How did you celebrate Earth Day?

It was a super busy day here, but we made sure to particpate in a few ways. 

First, it was Tuesday so it was recycle day for our home.  Our trash company promotes a recycling program where you can throw all of your recyclables into a separate dumpster and then they pick it up for you on a separate day than your trash day.  I LOVE this program.  It makes recycling SO simple and really makes it to where it is crazy to not participate - especially since its FREE!  We use this service for our plastics and food cans.  Otherwise we use our local recycle center for our cardboard and newspapers.  This program is great and they keep the money earned through the recyclables for programs within our town.  We also turn in our own pop cans for $s.  We dont use this much anymore since we have made great headway in removing pop form our consumption plan. 

On Campus I took the time to tour the Earth Day Assembly over by RSC.  They put together a great event with several on campus and community resources complete with a DJ. Its always great to see the local news on campus too.  It was a fun time :)

On my busiest day of the week I cant say it was a great celebration on my part BUT I am glad to have participated a little and it was great to see all the others participating too - no matter if it was at an event or bringing awareness via media no matter if it was through social media or your own blog.  WAY TO GO!
