Maybe its time to start at the begining.  There are seven principles to Leave No Trace

Plan Ahead and Prepare

Why do we need to plan ahead?  Well frankly poor preparation leads to miserable experience.  When you are not ready for weather possibilities or the dont have an appropriate way to cook it might be a long trip and realistically can cause damage to the area around where you have settled.

Principle One

Plan ahead, protect yourself and your fellow outdoors-people, and the environment around you.  We only have our Earth for now and the more it changes the more everyone and everything has to adjust.  Small actions make big impacts both positive and negative.
